Your Mission: As the Group Product & Programme Manager, you will spearhead the effective delivery product and programming, continuously developing Fusion’s brands as a community destination for health, wellbeing and fun. Reporting to the Community & Partnership Director, you will lead the identification and analysis of community needs, developing innovative programming to engage, and retain our customers and partners.

What You'll Do:

  • Contribute to the delivery of Fusion’s vision and strategy.
  • To be an active and visible member of the Senior Leadership Team, regularly visiting facilities, engaging with team members and customers and supporting excellent service delivery.
  • Support Fusion’s business strategy and maximise revenue streams in the development of high quality programme and product development plans. 
  • Define and drive a culture of excellence and exemplary performance in products and programmes, continuously raising quality standards throughout the business and delivering excellent customer service ratings through reporting, management and development of related job families.
  • Establish, lead and oversee responsive and effective performance management and monitoring regimes and ensure that timely management decisions and interventions are delivered in light of current trends 
  • Establish and lead relationships with key suppliers and commercial agreements with third parties.
  • Provide primary leadership to the fitness function and any associated team members.  
  • Develop the group exercise programme to increase participation, achieve wider charity objectives, and enhance customer retention. 
  • Develop new programmes to enhance customer engagement, such as junior activities, group classes and indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Lead and launch a programme for seasonal changes to health and fitness programming for gym floor and group exercise.
  • Oversee the development and success of the outsourced personal training product, including the roll-out and integration of this service.
  • Oversee the training of all refurbishments, new builds and mobilisations.
  • Increase participation and utilisation across the charity’s estate delivering retention targets.
  • Co-ordinate, design and grow all other commercial programmes, working with multiple teams and individuals across the estate to ensure a consistent, coherent offering aligned to Fusion priorities and strategies.  
  • Track, measure and report on the effectiveness of products and programmes, including membership indicators and business plan objectives, in line with Fusion reporting procedures
  • Identify, determine, establish and influence key partnerships with a range of other public, private and voluntary sector organisations in order to ensure successful delivery of products and programmes, maintaining effective working partner relationships and a consistent approach to maximise delivery.  

Qualifications 

  • CIMSPA Professional Membership – Practitioner (Desirable)
  • Degree level Educated or Similar – (Desirable)
  • Fitness Qualification – (Desirable) 

 Experience/Skills and attributes: 

  • At least two years of fitness delivering experience in personal training or group exercise (Essential) 
  • Management or supervisory experience in leisure, specifically related to programming (Essential) 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced setting, delivering and exceeding targets (Essential)
  • Deep understanding of product management lifecycles (Essential)
  • Ability to interpret Health and Safety and other relevant legislation (Essential)
  • Ability to produce written policy and explain complex concepts in an engaging manner (Essential)
  • Developing political awareness and reputation management skills (Essential)
  • Project management skills to enable the effective coordination of multi-disciplinary project teams (Desirable)
  • Able to understand and utilise a range of software, including Microsoft Office and CRM (Essential)
  • Broad knowledge and experience in the leisure sector (Essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence teams of people (Desirable)
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills (Essential)
  • Active affiliation with appropriate networks and organisations and ongoing community involvement (Desirable)
